Students will examine first and second language acquisition from linguistic and psychological perspectives. Learning goals: Students will be able to explain the similarities and differences in language acquisition between monolingual and bilingual children. Students will be able to understand the role of parents or guardians as well as teachers in the language acquisition process. |

Students will analyze the language acquisition process during the first three years of life, how children acquire language, including children raised in a bilingual environment. |

準備学習 |
Students will study the textbook, answer homework questions to confirm understanding, or write response papers. There are two classes a week for the first half of the semester, so homework should take more than two hours a week. |
