Students will examine first and second language acquisition from linguistic and psychological perspectives. Learning goals: * Students will be able to explain the similarities and differences in language acquisition between monolingual and bilingual children. * Students will be able to understand the role of parents or guardians as well as teachers in the language acquisition process. |

Students will analyze the language acquisition process during the first three years of life, how children acquire language, including children raised in a bilingual environment. |
