授業の目的、または到達目標 To develop computer skills and confidence in using the Internet for communication, research and self-expression.
授業の概要 Learn many new techniques for finding information and communicating with others through the Internet. Use the World Wide Web to practice English and experience distance education. Use e-mail and mobile phones as well as online communication tools for discussions in English. Make a home page to organize sources discovered and to express yourself. You can use your college blog in this course. Listen to podcasts by computer and enjoy Internet video. Make a YouTube video in class as your final presentation.
科目群/ベンチマーク Any level, first or second year students.
授業の形態 Brief lectures and individual help. In a computer lab, Web-based Internet exercises will be demonstrated using a projector. The WebCT Learning Management System (LMS) will provide a platform for home pages and password-protected communication. Learn to use a digital video camera.

  • Social Networking Sites. Post to blogs. See other students’ WebCT home pages and blogs.

  • Class discussion using the WebCT discussion board.

  • Class discussion using a WebCT chat room. An outside guest may be invited so students can experience distance education.

  • Google Maps. Listen to podcasts by computer using earphones.

  • Use a group voice message board. Start making a mobile phone homepage.

  • Watch Internet videos, such as on human rights, and learn digital video camera techniques.
