授業の目的、または到達目標 * improve spoken accuracy in English through effective pronunciation
* give speeches with a clear thesis, hook, beginning and ending
* use successful techniques for constructing the parts of a speech
* use their body appropriately to present an effective speech
授業の概要 This course will focus on developing speaking accuracy and communication skills. This will include presenting information, speaking, explaining clearly, and persuading people on a contemporary community or company issue found in Japan or other countries.

準備学習 Students will read, conduct research, and plan for and practice presentations. Expect to spend about 2-3 hours on preparation for every class.

成績評価方法・基準 Presentation portfolio 50% (3 presentations in different formats = 15% each for first two 20% for final presentation., including performances, visuals, note cards, self-evaluations, preparation, etc.)
