授業の目的、または到達目標 Upon completion of this class, students will be able to:
-State key issues related to technology in modern life
-Describe attitudes towards technology in different cultures
-State their personal philosophy in relation to technology
-Compare modern life in Japan with several other cultures including Japan in previous eras
授業の概要 Attitudes and approaches to technology will be applied to the topic of war and peace. Looking at technology in many contexts: throughout history and in different cultures, we will consider the important role that technology plays in our life for peaceful and violent purposes. Students will learn to consider the role of technology in their lives and throughout the world.
