授業の目的、または到達目標 Objectives: This course will introduce students to the production of media content for modern media platforms (print, digital, broadcast).
Learning goals: To understand the production process for a variety of media forms, including digital, broadcast, and print,
To create effective media products using a variety of production techniques
To understand the joint nature of the creative process in modern media forms
To improve story telling skills for modern media forms
To become able to edit the work of others in order to improve the story (print & digital)
To develop and sharpen media literacy skills
授業の概要 Content: To understand the production process for a variety of media forms, including digital, broadcast, and print, and learn to create effective media products using a variety of production techniques. Students will study the history of media production (Guttenberg to the present), critically examine media products, and learn the basics of creating media. Students will be expected to work in production teams on short videos and written texts for digital distribution.

準備学習 Expect to spend 4 to 6 hours a week on this class. Students in this class will be responsible for producing media projects.

Your fellow students, your instructors, and other members of the school community will be among those who have access to these projects. It will be your responsibility to conduct yourself appropriately and create quality content.

Copyright is to be respected at all time. All images and music used in any production must be yours or used with the permission if done by friends outside this class. Inappropriate material will not be tolerated, including any libel, slander, obscenity, or unethical behavior. The production of such material will be grounds for immediate dismissal from the class with a final grade of "F".
教科書 Online materials will be used. Bring your iPad to class so that I can make sure you have downloaded the material. Videos will be watched outside of class and discussed in class.

You will be expected to learn to use the equipment and to keep it in working order. If you break equipment you might be asked to replace it. Please treat it kindly.
参考文献 Materials: various online sources will be used for this class. These will include written text and videos. Students will be expected to access and view these before class.

Make sure you have the YouTube app on your iPad. Links to videos will be provided.

成績評価方法・基準 Class work, homework, quizzes, and other activities: 40%
Project work and research 30%
Papers & other written work: 30%

Rubrics will be given to students with the syllabus that apply to written work and to the various projects.

As in all media businesses, every team member is important. When you are absent, your team suffers and might not be able to complete the task assigned. Your participation is required. Imagine you are working at a media company. To get paid, you must show up and be ready for work. Y
