授業の概要 This course will examine the role of media in global communication and consider their importance in modern society. The course will examine the global multimedia environment with the aim of becoming developing and understanding of how media function, the various laws that nations impose on media, the influence of media conglomerates and popular culture, and other issues related to media and global communication issues.

授業の形態 Lectures, discussions, presentations, quizzes, papers, media projects.

This class will meet 22 times during the term. The themes for each week are outlined in the schedule.

In 2014, the course schedule for 4th year students will be to have THREE (3) class meetings every two weeks (instead of every week for 8 weeks, and once a week for 7 weeks). Classes will meet 2 classes periods during weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 for 4th year students. Classes will meet 2 class periods every week for 3rd year students.
