To examine the causes of conflict in the Middle East, particularly the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and understand how this influences American foreign policy. Learning goals: * can understand the causes of conflict in the Middle East * can understand how this conflict influences U.S. foreign policy * can articulate opinions and discuss, present, and write about these issues |
| 授業の概要 |
This course will examine the causes of wars in the Middle East and their relationship to the conflict between Israel and Palestinians. The effect of this conflict on the involvement of America and other nations in wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen, among other areas, will be considered. Attention will be given to the role that the events of 9/11 played in the justification for war. The media's role in the U.S. and international coverage of these conflicts will also be considered. |
