授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand welfare systems in countries considered "perfect welfare states" such as England, Sweden and finland, and to determine the most suitable welfare form for Japan.
Learning goals:
can understand welfare systems basically
can explain elderly care in Sweden and Japan
can explain childcare in welfare states and Japan
can explain health care systems and disabled policies
can explain Equality between Men and Women in Sweden
can explain the care of the elderly in welfare states and in Japan
can explain the child care in Sweden and Japan
can explain health and medical care and disability policy in welfare states and those in Japan
can write summaries of various fields of welfare

授業の概要 Through the latest Fact Sheets on Sweden, issued in Stockholm, students will examine the general ideas and the ideal method of carrying out welfare work. Then they will also consider the care of the elderly, equality between men and women, childcare, disability policies, health care systems, social insurance, and housing and housing policies as the class compares welfare states.

準備学習 Students' will be required to read about 20 pages of materials each week, which will take a quiz to assess your understanding to assigned reading. Summarizing, preparation for discussion, presentation will be also required.
教科書 Fact sheets on Sweden, Finnish materials will be given in class.
参考文献 "Who Cares" (This is not a textbook but a good essay kept in the library).
