授業の目的、または到達目標 |
This course varies from the 4 unit course. It will not include analysis of holiday customs of various countries and Japan. Besides this point, other course content remains the same. The objective of this course is to understand how culture shapes our world at the local and global level. Notions of material and non-material culture will guide awareness of the genesis and reality of a variety of world cultures. Students' personal experiences and comparative analysis will foster class-wide interest and understanding of foreign cultures. Students will know and use the tools and vocabulary of cultural categorization to deepen their knowledge and respect for cultural diversity, including that of subcultures.
|
