科目名 Topic Studies II - A  Rights of Children

授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand the unique rights children need, the development of UN declaration on children's rights, and the ways that societies provide, or fail to provide, these rights.
授業の概要 This class will explore the rights of children in modern societies, including an examination of the rights that they have and the ways in which children's rights are violated. Attention will be given to the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child provide for a broader range of rights meant to protect children than those guaranteed to all people under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

成績評価方法・基準 Class Work (attendance, class participation, quizzes, assignments) 50% Research Paper Work 40% (outline/introduction/references 5%, first draft 10%, final draft 25%) Final Presentation 10% Late assignments and papers will be penalized 5%
