授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand welfare systems in coutries considered "perfect welfare states" such as England, Sweden and Finland, and to determine the most suitable form for Japan
授業の概要 Through and the latest Fact Sheets on Sweden, issued in Stockholm, students will examine the general ideas and the ideal method of carrying out welfare work. Then they will also consider the care of the elderly, equality between men and women, childcare, disability policies, health care systems, social insurance, and housing and housing policies as the class compares welfare states.

準備学習 Students will be required to read about 20 pages of materials each week, and will take a quiz to assess understanding of the assigned readings, Summarizing, preparation for discussion, presentation will be also required.
教科書 Fact sheets on Sweden, Finnish materials will be given in class.

成績評価方法・基準 Class Work(Class participation, discussions, presentations, quizzes, assignments) 40% Group Research Presentation 20% Summaries of Research Presentation&References 10% Reflection&Response papers 30% Late assignments and summaries will be penalized. Late submission and no preparation for assignments will be penalized.
