授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand the impact of scientific developments on our society and attempt to predict the ways in which these shape our lives.
授業の概要 In this course, students will be asked to read passages on rapidly developing modern technologies (nanotechnology, biotechnology, networking, artificial intelligence, etc.), to discuss what impact scientific developments have had on our society, and to attempt to predict how they may help shape our future lives. Students will work on acquiring verbal and written communication skills to express one’s opinions effectively, making use of information obtained from assigned reading and other sources.
