授業の目的、または到達目標 Students in this course will increase their ability to listen to oral texts about various global issues, to discuss such issues with each other, and to improve their ability to take lecture notes while listening.
授業の概要 Topics include a variety of important global issues, such as child labor, poverty, environmental problems, rural vs. urban life, cross-cultural communication, and others. Students read, discuss, listen, write brief texts, use the internet, and do brief in-class oral reports and presentations for each topic. Websites and a listening CD associated with the textbook will be used in class and for homework.
