授業の目的、または到達目標 This course aims to familiarize students with prominent companies in the world and to develop their knowledge about business, helping them enhance the ability to do corporate research for their future job hunting. Another aim is of course furthering students’ capacity to read extensively in English with specific goals in mind, like obtaining desired information from authentic texts they can find on the Net.


授業の概要 Reading the textbook “Business Leaders & Success,” students are exposed to eminent global companies. One Harvard Business School case study is also included as a reading material. That is an exemplary documentation of corporate research; Students thus would be able to understand the gist of what is required of them in writing their final paper by reading the case. Lessons include information gathering of given companies and presentation of their findings, comprehension questions of the reading assignments, lectures, discussion, and presentation of their corporate research results for their final paper.

準備学習 Read Business Leaders & Success. You will take a quiz to assess your understanding the assigned readings. The quizzes will be collected and graded. Regular attendance is required and expected. Students who miss class are responsible to find out what was done in class, what the assignment for the next class is and when the assignments are due. Active participation is expected and required in class; it is incorporated as part of the final grade. You need to use Criterion when you work on written assignments. Without submitting the paper, you cannot pass the course.
