授業の目的、または到達目標 Students will learn the importance of people skill for organizational development， particularly at a company’s start-up stage.
In this class， students acquire the skill to understand a big picture of what is written in each test material without looking at a dictionary. So， my class is designed for students to realize and improve their potential power of prediction and imagination for reading materials
授業の概要 1) “Mrs， Lonerar Heard-Davis”
This is the story about Mrs.Lonear Heard-Davis， one of the most successful McDonald’s franchisees in the US. We will learn from this story how and why she， an African-American woman， has become a successful owner of eight McDonald’s franchise restaurants in the Los Angels area while getting over various difficulties.
2) “Sam Walton and Wal-Mart Stores”
Wal-Mart is the world largest retailer and is the company which generates the largest annual sales revenue in the world. Its annual sales revenue is approx.$300 billion， which is amazingly 35% of the Japan’s National budget during the year. Sam Walton founded Wal-Mart in 1962 and has made Wal-Mart such a scale of the company in only 40 years. We will learn his passion to the retail business， and his philosophy of caring for customers and employees from this story.
3)”Howard Shultz and Starbucks Coffee”
Howard Schulz is a founder of Starbucks who has transformed a commodity into an upscale cultural phenomenon through specialty coffee shop chain. We will peep into a company background of Starbucks and some interesting data from its current marketing research.
