授業の目的、または到達目標 To become familiar with the events， characters， themes and language of one of William Shakespeare’s plays， to develop our own interpretations of various aspects of the play， and to gain insight into why people have long admired his works.
授業の概要 We will primarily focus on Twelfth Night， one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies. To come to a better understanding of this play， we will put Shakespeare’s words into our own words， do dramatic readings and role plays， discuss various interpretations of characters and other aspects of the play， watch short scenes from videos， give reports and presentations， listen to short lectures and engage in creative projects. We will also deal with some of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
