科目名 Management of NGOs for International Cooperation (国際協力NGO運営論)  Formulating a strategy
担当教員 Takahashi, Saul 高橋 宗瑠
授業の目的、または到達目標 For their term project, students will 'create' their own NGO and produce a strategy paper and a funding proposal. Upon completing the course, students should be able to:
Explain the main challenges in managing NGOs and the issues such organizations face;
Explain how to formulate a strategy and funding proposal for NGOs.
授業の概要 NGOs are a key player in the international development arena: distributing aid, advocating for policy change, and providing a structure for social movements. NGOs play a vital role in ensuring that the voice of marginalised populations are reflected in policy debates. At the same time, they are not devoid of issues, and the managing of NGOs is not without pitfalls. In this course we will examine some of the management aspects of NGOs, and will examine the difficulties NGOs often face in maintaining a principled approach.
