Explain the provisions of international human rights conventions and the historical critiques of human rights;

After reviewing the current, state-based system of international law and international relations, we will examine the international human rights conventions, with classes dedicated to discussions on specific human rights topics. Finally, issues such as the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and the International Law of Armed Conflict (ILAC) will be discussed. The issue of Palestine will be examined, as a case study of the limitations of the international system.
