授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand the mechanism of intercultural misunderstanding. To recognize the importance of admitting differences among cultural values.
Learning Goals:
*can understand how intercultural misunderstanding occur
*can explore the importance of admitting other cultural values
*can reconsider their own cultural values
授業の概要 This course will provide the chances to consider the mechanisms of intercultural communication. People tend to make judgements based on their cultural values, which often leads to misunderstanding. It is important to understand and respect the differences and reconsider our own culture and values. The course will introduce cases of intercultural misunderstanding, and identifying why those misunderstandings arose. By analyzing these cases, the students should recognize their stereotypes and improve their own intercultural communication skills.
