授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand what Peace Studies is and explore important issues in the field such as imperialism, colonialism, terrorism, resistance, poverty, the media and peacebuilding.
Learning goals:
*can understand/use related vocabulary and expressions
*can understand/paraphrase/summarise the author's ideas in the textbook
*can express their own ideas on issues related to peace
授業の概要 Students learn what Peace Studies is, and gradually understand some issues in the field while reading the class text. They are expected to write a research paper based on their academic interest. Also, they need to give a presentation of their own research. This course will allow students to explore peace studies in depth, in the context of a one-term content-based English course with reading, writing and presentation components.

準備学習 Class work: Students will be asked to read about 10-20 pages per week. They will take a quiz to assess their understanding the assigned readings. Regular attendance is required and expected. Students who miss class are responsible for finding out what work was done and what homework is due. Writing a paper: Students write a research paper. All papers must be formatted according to APA guidelines. Giving a presentation: Either individually or in groups, students are required to present their research to the class.
