*use strategies to identify and learn necessary low-frequency words
*turn receptive vocabulary items into productive ones
*To learn new NGSL and TOEIC lexical items.
- To gain receptive mastery (98% recall knowledge, written / spoken L2 forms to L1 translations) of the first half of the TSL.

準備学習 Students should spend approximately 2-3 hours a week outside of class completing extensive reading (The ISBN number for Xreading is 9784865390698), vocabulary study, dictation among other studies.

参考文献 Materials will be made available in class, via gmail or on moodle. Students are strongly recommended to check their WILMINA gmail accounts at least once a day.
Dictogloss and dictation materials will contain NGSL vocabulary
成績評価方法・基準 Xreading 30%
180,000 words 30 points (100%)
Teachers will check how much reading was completed each week. Feedback will be provided in person.

Journal of learned lexical items 10%
1 point for each 20 items
Teachers will check how many lexical items were written from time to time. Feedback will be provided in person.

Dictation 30%
These will be posted on moodle so students can complete them before the end of term.
Teachers will check how much dictation was completed each week. Feedback will be provided in person.

Vocabulary tests 30% - speaking (15%) and writing (15%).
The total score (missing scores are marked as zeros) converted to a percentage out of 20.
Students will be provided with the correct answers and will be required to make a note of errors made in tests.
