授業の目的、または到達目標	To learn the foundation of both qualitative research and quantitative research and to acquire the basic skills of various research methods with the relation to the students’ own research topics. 社会調査における量的、質的方法の異同について学んだ後、さまざまな調査法をそれぞれの研究課題と共に具体的に検討することを通じて調査法の基礎を修得する。
授業の概要	It includes the foundation of qualitative research and quantitative research, validity and credibility, positivism and post-positivism, various research methods, the issues of ethics,and presentation of the research. 量的調査と質的調査の異同、妥当性と信頼性の問題、実証主義とポスト実証主義、さまざまな調査法、社会調査の倫理、分析と報告。
