To learn theoretical and concrete issues in contemporary multicultural society in relation to globalization To understand the current social movement called globalization To analyze and problematize the various issues in intercultural understanding To examine and to be able to explain the key concepts and the problems of multicultural societies in your own context |
授業の概要 |
Students learn about multicultural society in the context of globalization. The course first explores the meaning of globalization and various aspects and debates concerning culture, particularly the problems of cultural essentialism which penetrates the debates. Then, by linking the concepts of international and intercultural understandings, students attempts to consider multicultural education, which is the most promising area in guiding a multicultural society, but do so in your own context. |
