This class is designed to give students experience in presenting, explaining, and defending different sides of an issue or argument. In addition to arguing for personal opinions and perspectives, editorial comment and analysis will be introduced and practiced. |
授業の概要 |
Students will learn the following skills: (a) how to recognize and construct logical, well-supported arguments in English; (b) how to defend their opinions and viewpoints in English discussions; (c) how to understand and answer questions and opposing arguments; and (d) how to express themselves clearly and persuasively. |
授業の形態 |
Students will participate regularly in dialogue debates, panel discussions, and Question-and-Answer sessions. The focus of language use will be on oral discussion and debate; in some activities, written texts will be created to support oral performance. |
