授業の目的、または到達目標 To understand how culture shapes how people in different countries make decisions. This course will examine different nations and how history, religion and culture may shape how people make decisions and interact with others. We will use this knowledge as we role play many cross cultural situations. For the extra hour, we will discuss academic articles related to culture and education.
授業の概要 After reviewing culture and communication, we will examine cultures in different nations and consider how they make decisions, and how they interact. Drawing on concepts of verbal & nonverbal communication as well as knowledge of nations, we will closely examine cross cultural communication in some of these areas: North America, South America, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

授業の形態 This course will include readings, short lectures, and many presentations by students. In addition, there will be in-depth discussion about academic articles connected with culture.

準備学習 Students will need to prepare their country presentations, read about the cultures of the countries, and review for numerous quizzes. For the hour with academic articles, students need to read the materials and be ready to discuss.
