授業の目的、または到達目標 To improve students’ academic writing skills for courses in their specialization areas in the 3rd and 4th years including the graduation project thesis. Additionally, the course will help improve students’ English writing skills.
授業の概要 This course builds upon writing skills developed in 1st and 2nd year courses. This course particularly aims to improve your skills at analyzing data and writing to support your own arguments. In addition, the process of writing will continue to be emphasized. You will correct your own writing, including organization, details, grammar, structure of overall writing, and style. Students will use Criterion to help you correct your writing.
授業の形態 This course will include readings, short lectures, activities and writing. Using the computer will be an important part of this course.

Summaries and Paraphrases of Academic articles and data 20%
(At least four summaries and/or paraphrases)
Using data and making tables to support an argument 20%
(At least four using tables,graphs, or figures)
Two essays incorporating research from other sources (20 points each) 40%
Includes drafts and final paper)
