授業の目的、または到達目標 Learning goals: at the end of the class in July, you will
- have enhanced your vocabulary to a minimum extent which is necessary for the basic understanding of human rights, and for the basic discussion of human rights issues;
- (step 1) have a fuller understanding of the reading materials of Human Rights Reader (iBook) which you would have read only partially so far;
- (step 2) be able to read news reports about human rights;
- have practiced various ways in which to disagree respectfully and constructively with other persons who are engaged in discussion with you; and
- be able to make a short group presentation (five minutes) on a human rights subject, based on research.
授業の概要 Following short presentations on what you have already learnt about human rights last year, this class gives you more vocabulary, more reading materials, more opportunities for making discussions, presentations, and for writing more than a few paragraphs.
