授業の目的、または到達目標 Students will gain a broad understanding of the core components of conflict resolution.
Learning goals:

* can participate in and facilitate restorative justice conferences
* can create and express their own visions for a peaceful world
授業の概要 This class will serve as an introduction to Peace Studies and ConflictResolution. It will explore, through activities, games, and readings, how we understand and deal with conflict in our personal, school, and work lives as well as how conflict is addressed in society and in international business and political relations. Students will gain an understanding of the main aspects of conflict resolution, including negotiation, mediation, restorative justice, and methods of non-violent change.

準備学習 Preparation for class is required. To understand the content of this course, students must do the assigned readings before class and prepare for discussions each week. Readings and homework must be completed before class.
教科書 Class materials will be provided by the instructor.
成績評価方法・基準 Evaluation is based on course work, participation, and papers: Class work & quizzes ? 40% (includes in-class work, homework, presentations, quizzes, discussions); Group research presentation ? 20% & written summary & reflection of research ? 10%; Reflection & response papers ? 30%
