授業の目的、または到達目標	To learn theoretical and concrete issues in contemporary multicultural society　in relation to globalization. can have a clear understanding of the context of globalization can understand and discuss the issues of multiculturalism and problems of cultural essentialism *can research a topic relating to intercultural understanding and multicultural education
授業の概要	Students learn about multicultural society in the context of globalization. The course first explores the meaning of globalization and various aspects and debates concerning culture, particularly the problems of cultural essentialism which penetrates the debates. Then, by linking the concepts of international and intercultural understandings, students attempt to consider multicultural education, which is the most promising area in guiding a multicultural society, but do so within their own context.
