科目名 Ethnic Minorities

授業の目的、または到達目標 Ethnic minorities are suffering from various forms of discrimination and disadvantages in Japan and other parts of the world. In general, governments as well as the society at large, have been and still are reluctant in providing protection to minorities.

Learning goals:

Students can understand the issues that affect minorities.
Students can see how Japan and other countries treat minorities.
授業の概要 First, students will examine the realities and problems facing the ethnic, linguistic and religious minorities in the world, particularly those of foreign nationals or origin. Then, they will learn about the international human rights standards and system.

授業の形態 Participatory form of classes including questions, comments, presentations and discussions by students.
