授業の目的、または到達目標 To be aware of various differences, beyond grammatical structure, between Japanese and English, and to be able to utilize that recognizaiton for better inter-cultural communication.
授業の概要 Two continuous sessions, meet twice a week. The first period is a lecture session, and the second period is a practice session. In the lecture, we will start by thinking about what "words" mean and pick up some examples of how words and expressions in one language are rather difficult to be tranlsated into another language. We will explore the reason behind this as well.
