To understand the importance of corporate mission and how it effects the corporate culture and strategy. Learning goals: Students can * Understand how the corporate mission connects to the corporate culture and strategy * Understand the business world * Identify companies which have a corporate mission and culture that fits students' goals (which, hopefully, can be utilized in future job searches) * Become familiar with business terms in order to improve business English skills |
授業の概要 |
This course focuses on knowing about corporate mission and culture, which is deeply related to companies' business. In this course, students examine why the corporate mission is important and determine how it effects the culture of the company. Students will explore how these are connected to the strategy and lead business decisions. A detailed syllabus will be provided at the first class meeting. |

授業の形態 |
In this class students will learn the basic knowledge about the corporate mission and culture and why it is important by lecture. Students are also expected to participate discussions and individual / group research and presentations in the class, and also have a chance for individual / group research in/out of class, to get the insight of study area as well as to develop their English skills. Short videos is sometimes used to activate the discussion. |

成績評価方法・基準 |
Evaluation is based on course work, participation, and papers: Class work & quizzes = 40% (includes in-class work, homework, presentations, quizzes, discussions); Group research presentation = 20% & written summary & reflection of research = 10%; Reflection & response papers = 30% Feedback: Give back the report with comments at the end of the semester (or in the class) Feedback on presentations in the class |
