授業の目的、または到達目標	The goal of this course is to understand how culture affects people's behavior and their values. The most effective way to understand this is through examining differences. Points of comparison can be made in areas such as conversational style, verbal and nonverbal behavior, the concept of time and space, and ethics.
授業の概要	This course will be based on readings, videos, and class activities. Understanding comes not only through cognitive work, but also by being aware of emotional reactions. Thus, there will be a strong focus on experiential learning, but students will be expected to document their experiences through written reports.


授業の形態	Students will be expected to do the readings and homework before each class. They will participate in discussions, role plays and intercultural activities, and there will be some quizzes throughout the course. Short presentations and one main project will be required.
