準備学習 Active participation is essential for improving writing. Students are expected to take an active role in improving their own writing ability. This includes attending class and completing assignments.

成績評価方法・基準 Class work 40%
(Includes homework, quizzes, journals, reports, summaries, portfolio, etc.)
First part of the semester: Essays 30% (15% for each)
Second part of the semester: Essay 30%
(First part of the semester essay work includes pre-writing, outlines, drafts, and final paper)
(Second part of the semester essay work includes pr-writing, outlines, drafts, and final draft which uses APA)

Feedback on writing will be written and sometimes given to students on their compositions and at other times sent to the students electronically.
Feedback in class will be oral and given face-to-face.
