授業の目的、または到達目標 Students will understand more of the cultural and historical setting of Biblical literature, narrative, biography, poetry, prophecy, and religion. Students should gain insight into how the Bible has influenced culture and society. Students will question and discuss various issues dealt with in the Bible and discuss how these issues may be related to current life.
授業の概要 Students will read and respond to selections from the Bible. Additional background and explanation will be presented in class. Students will also be challenged with various viewpoints and interpretations related to the Bible.

準備学習 In response to assigned readings, students must write thoughts, impressions, comparisons with issues today, and prepare questions for discussion. A student presentation may also be required.
教科書 Holy Bible: English Standard Version iPad app.
Text will be directed by the teacher.
参考文献 A number of books are available in the college library for research on this topic.
成績評価方法・基準 Written response papers & possible presentation 30%
Participation in class discussion 40%
Final Quiz 30%
Students can see the results of their work during, before, or after class. This can be face to face or electronic if requested.
